Russian Guard inspects readiness of combat, special equipment at surprise drills - general

MOSCOW. March 14 (Interfax) - During the first surprise combat readiness drills the Russian Guard has examined operation of the command posts over the communications systems, combat and special military hardware, Chief of the Russian Guard Troops General Staff Col. Gen. Sergei Chenchik said.

On the orders by Russian Guard Commander Viktor Zolotov the troops under his command have launched the first surprise combat readiness inspection on Monday.

"The performance of the issues of command of subordinate units from primary and auxiliary command posts, as well as the accomplishment of the standards of readiness and transfer of formations to the designated areas have been inspected in the past 24 hours," Chenchik said, summing up the first stage of combat readiness inspection in the Russian Guard units in the Central Federal District.

"Different types of comprehensive support, including the communications, readiness of combat and special equipment, as well as the work of the headquarters while planning and commanding the forces and equipment, as well as the carrying out of interaction were in the focus," the chief of the Russian Guard General Staff said.

The troops have completely fulfilled all their tasks, he said.
