ASTANA. March 15 (Interfax) - Mohammed Alloush, a Syrian armed opposition leader and head of the Jaysh al-Islam group, may arrive in Astana early on Thursday, a source in the opposition's High Negotiations Committee told Interfax.
Alloush's engagement is being discussed, there is no final decision for now, but his arrival is possible, the source said.
A group of Syrian opposition members are due to arrive in Astana from Istanbul on board a Turkish Airlines flight at about 3 a.m. local time, he said, adding that consultations scheduled for Thursday would be held exclusively with military experts and would concern the ceasefire implementation.
No Syrian opposition members will attend the plenary meeting, the source said.
Alloush led the Syrian armed opposition delegation during the February round of the Astana negotiations.
