ASTANA. March 15 (Interfax) - Russia, Turkey and Iran have drafted a joint address to the UN member countries on demining UNESCO cultural heritage sites in Syria, head of the Russian delegation to the Astana negotiations and special presidential envoy Alexander Lavrentyev said.
"The consultations addressed a draft appeal by Russia, Iran and Turkey backed up by the United Nations to UN member countries for the humanitarian demining of UNESCO world cultural heritage sites in Syria, including Palmyra," Lavrentyev said at a press briefing in Astana on Wednesday.
