ASTANA. March 15 (Interfax) - The next meeting of the states guaranteeing a ceasefire in Syria will take place in Astana on May 3-4, head of the Russian delegation at the Astana talks and special presidential envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev said.
"An agreement has been reached at the talks that the next meeting will take place in Astana on May 3-4 in a trilateral format involving Iran, Turkey and Russia," Lavrentyev said at a briefing in Astana on Wednesday.
"A meeting of experts in Tehran on [April] 18-19 will precede [the Astana meeting]. Work on the aforementioned documents should be completed at the meeting [in Tehran] so that they can be approved at the next meeting in Astana," Lavrentyev said.
