Advocates of military solution in Syria need to be countered - Lavrentyev

ASTANA. March 15 (Interfax) - Certain forces are seeking to hinder the peaceful talks and advocating a military solution to the Syria crisis, head of the Russian delegation at the Astana talks Alexander Lavrentyev said.

"There are some forces that are seeking not only to disrupt the Astana process, as well as the negotiations in Geneva, but also want to totally disrupt the chance for any peace talks, including on a political settlement. There are forces that advocate precisely a military way of solving the Syria crisis. We should all oppose this," Lavrentyev said at a news briefing in Astana on Wednesday.
