Rosoboronexport in talks with Turkey over military-technical cooperation, Ankara keen on air defense systems - Rosoboronexport chief

MOSCOW. March 16 (Interfax) - Russia's state arms export agent, Rosoboronexport, is holding consultations with Turkey on most promising military-technical cooperation projects, including on air defense systems, Rosoboronexport's General Director Alexander Mikheyev said.

"Turkey is one of Rosoboronexport's important partners. We are conducting joint consultations on a number of the most promising and mutually beneficial projects in the field of military-technical cooperation," Mikheyev was quoted in a Rosoboronexport official statement as saying.

"In particular, Ankara has shown keen interest in Russian air defense systems of varying range, active and passive tank protection systems, and also small arms and related ammunition and special technology for the needs of the national defense and interior ministries," he said.
