KYIV. March 17 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has condemned the trip made by a group of Serbian parliamentarians to Crimea, and invited the Serbian ambassador to Ukraine to provide explanations.
"The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the trip by a group of Serbian parliamentarians to occupied Crimea," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mariana Betsa said at a briefing in Kyiv on Friday.
Serbian parliamentarians violated Ukrainian laws and international law, Betsa said. The deputies are openly calling for the recognition of Crimea having become part of Russia and thus violate the official position of Serbia which supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine, she said.
"The Foreign Ministry has today summoned the ambassador of Serbia to the Foreign Ministry to give explanations over this matter," Betsa said.
