MOSCOW. March 21 (Interfax-AVN) - Artillerymen of Russia's Baltic Fleet have been firing Grads multiple rocket launchers and Giatsints field guns at training sites in the Kaliningrad region, Western Military District spokesman for the Baltic Fleet Roman Martov said.
"The scheduled drills that are taking place at several training sites in the Kaliningrad region involve Grad multiple rocket launchers, Giatsint field guns, Akatsiya and Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers, Podnos mortars, as well as other artillery weaponry of the Baltic Fleet ground and coastal troops," Martov told Interfax on Tuesday.
The artillerymen face over 50 various live-fire assignments, he said.
"Shooting will be carried out in batteries. The artillerymen execute live-fire assignments with direct and semi-direct aiming using various types of munitions against solo and group targets," Martov said.
In all, the exercise involves over 100 units of weaponry and military and special equipment, the spokesman said.
