LANGKAWI, Malaysia. March 22 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia and India are expected to sign a number of major military-technical cooperation contracts in the near future, Viktor Kladov, the head of the International Cooperation and Regional Policy Department at the state corporation Rostec, told reporters at the LIMA-2017 International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition on Wednesday.
"The contract portfolio will amount to billions [of U.S. dollars]," Kladov said.
"It's a project to build four frigates, it will be this year. The Russian government will approve documents on the Kamov Ka-226T helicopter within the next few days. Accordingly, a joint venture to manufacture 200 helicopters of this type in India will begin working. Additionally, a contract for the delivery of 48 Mi-17V5 helicopters manufactured by the Kazan Helicopter Plant will be signed in the near future," he said.
"I will only name this, I will not speak about other things," Kladov said.
