MOSCOW. March 23 (Interfax) - The Russian strategic nuclear forces will be supplied with new weapons in a priority manner, and the share of modern weapons in this sector will reach 90% by the end of 2020, President Vladimir Putin said.
"We will continue to develop the national defense capability and to equip all arms and branches with new-generation weapons and hardware. First and foremost, this concerns the strategic nuclear forces," Putin said at a ceremony of introducing officers appointed to top-ranking positions.
"The share of modern weapons [in the strategic nuclear forces] should exceed 60%, or even reach 90% by certain parameters, by the end of 2020," he said.
