MINSK. March 24 (Interfax) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will prevent a Ukrainian scenario in development of a conflict situation in the country, the president said.
"The Ukrainian situation in Belarus - not with me. I can't let the Ukrainian scenario be repeated in Belarus," the Belarusian media cited the president as saying during a working visit to the Grodno region.
"Someone wants to cause a commotion" in Belarus, Lukashenko said.
"Someone wants to give rise to a disturbance and they're using our low-lives. They got to that point when they had dug out the holes and hid [things], like partisans. They're hiding weapons, fittings, axes, knives, grenades and other things. And they keep saying: we're teaching children patriotism this way. Are you teaching children with combat grenades?" Lukashenko said.
"Somebody's hands are itching. But there's a certain barrier no one should overstep by violating the law and the Constitution. And if the authorities don't see that, then a chain reaction will happen, it will be very difficult to stop it, because it would involve millions of people," the president said.
