MOSCOW. March 24 (Interfax) - The Kremlin does not know anything about the proposal that the maximum conscription age in Russia be raised, presidential press officer Dmitry Peskov said.
"We don't know anything, we heard this news from media reports for the first time," Peskov told reporters in commenting on the matter on Friday.
State Duma defense committee head Vladimir Shamanov told Interfax earlier that the committee was discussing the possibility of changing the legislation governing the draft.
In particular, Shamanov said some deputies had spoken in favor of raising the maximum conscription age to 30 from the current 27 years.
