Nearly 100 people killed in shelling in DPR in 2017 - ombudsman

DONETSK. March 31 (Interfax) - Six people have been killed and another 20 injured in shelling in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) over the past week, a spokesperson for the DPR human rights commissioner's office told journalists.

"Between March 24 and 30, six people were killed in the DPR, including three servicemen of the republic, one female civilian and two male civilians. Injuries were inflicted on 20 people, of whom six were civilians and 14 servicemen of the republic," he said.

As many as 95 people in the DPR were killed, including 86 servicemen and nine civilians, and 174 others injured, including 95 military and 79 civilians, between January 1 and March 30, 2017, he said.
