Russian NAC head proposes extra border control to stop militants from entering Russia

MOSCOW. April 11 (Interfax) - Russian National Antiterrorism Committee (NAC) head Alexander Bortnikov has spoken in favor of taking additional border control measures in order to prevent militants' attempts to infiltrate Russia.

"We should envisage additional border control measures for the entry-exit points and passenger traffic on the state border in relation to persons suspected of belonging to terrorist groups in order to prevent militants' attempts to infiltrate the Russian Federation," Bortnikov said at a NAC meeting.

"Simultaneously, we should bolster cooperation between all antiterrorism agencies and their foreign partners, make intelligence exchange faster, and take all measures required to detain criminals," Bortnikov said.
