Tillerson's talks in Moscow could lay foundation for start of full-fledged dialogue between Russia, U.S. - Gorbachev

MOSCOW. April 11 (Interfax) - The ex-president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev, believes that the Moscow visit by United States Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and his talks in the Russian capital will lead to a resumption of full-fledged dialogue between Russia and the U.S.

"There is no progress on any point of the Russian-U.S. agenda. The recent events in Syria have further aggravated the situation. All this, I think, is because the parties never began a full-fledged dialogue," Gorbachev said in an interview with Interfax on Tuesday.

"Let us hope that it [dialogue] begins now," the former president said, when asked to comment on his expectations from Tillerson's visit to Moscow.
