MOSCOW. April 11 (Interfax) - The United States had no reason to strike the Syrian airbase, Russian Federation Council Chairperson Valentina Matviyenko said.
"There is no doubt that this is an act of aggression against a sovereign state and a gross violation of international law. There was no reason for carrying out such a strike, because even the United States itself said that, presumably, the chemical attack might have been organized by the Syrian authorities," Matviyenko told journalists on Tuesday.
"This strike may be seen as a signal of support for terrorists," she said.
