MOSCOW. April 12 (Interfax) - Moscow is not hoping to reach agreement with the United States on Syria, expectations from the Moscow visit by U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson are vague, a source close to the Russian Foreign Ministry told Interfax on Tuesday.
"What hopes were there with respect to the U.S.? That Moscow and Washington would be negotiating an agreement on Syria. Now there is no such hope and no vision of joint steps on Syria either," the source said.
As for the expectations from Tillerson's visit, the source said: "Overall, the situation is vague."
Tillerson arrived in Moscow on Tuesday. On April 12 he is expected to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
