MOSCOW. April 12 (Interfax) - The strikes carried out by the United States against the Syrian airbase have confirmed Western support for terrorism, according to Hadiya Khalaf Abbas, the Speaker of the People's Council (parliament) of Syria.
Terrorists are being armed by Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Israel, she said.
"That the U.S. administration aggressively attacked an airbase in Syria confirms that the West is side by side with terror, helping it and supporting [it]," Abbas said at the start of her meeting with Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko in Moscow on Tuesday.
"Our historical relations have proved important and efficient in the fight against international terrorism. This terror is being sponsored and armed by Western and Arab countries, as well as Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Qatar," the Syrian parliamentary speaker said.
