Uzbek diplomats to attend Moscow consultations on Afghanistan

TASHKENT. April 12 (Interfax) - A delegation of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry will attend consultations on Afghanistan in Moscow on April 14, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said in a report on Wednesday.

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a joint statement at the end of Mirziyoyev's state visit to Moscow that "the soonest achievement of peace and stability in Afghanistan is an important factor for security in Central Asia and neighboring regions."

The parties underscored their readiness to contribute to that process.
