MOSCOW. April 12 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has confirmed that Russia is ready to reinstate the Memorandum of Understanding on the Prevention of Flight Safety Incidents in Syria with the United States, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Moscow.
"As you know, Russia suspended this memorandum. Today, the president confirmed our readiness to reapply it, provided that there is a clear confirmation of the initial objective of the U.S.-led coalition's air forces and the Russian Aerospace Forces, namely: the fight against ISIL and Jabhat al-Nusra [terrorist organizations, banned in Russia]," Lavrov said.
