MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - A telephone conversation took place between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Turkish initiative, the Kremlin press office said on Thursday.
"The leaders discussed the developments in Syria and expressed their mutual resolve to continue the joint work aimed reinforcing the cessation of hostilities, as well as their readiness to continue fostering the intra-Syrian negotiating process, both in the Astana and Geneva formats," the press office said.
"The leaders called for a swift objective and thorough international investigation of the chemical weapon incident in the town of Khan Sheikhoun on April 4," the Kremlin said.
"Having considered the bilateral issues, the heads of state have agreed to instruct their governments to intensify the implementation of the resolutions of the High-Level Cooperation Council meeting held in Moscow on March 10 of this year," the Kremlin said.
The two presidents "have agreed to continue contact," the Kremlin said.
