Tasks relating to denuclearization of Korean peninsula should be achieved using political and diplomatic methods - Ryabkov

MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - Moscow says military pressure on North Korea is unacceptable and has no chance of success.

"Any problems that arise in connection with the solution of the task to denuclearize the Korean peninsula should be resolved using political and diplomatic methods," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told Interfax.

"Military pressure does not give the desired effect, which supporters of such techniques want, in this region or in any other points on the globe. We will continue defending this position, promoting it in contacts with the United States and the partners in Northeast Asia," Ryabkov said, commenting at Interfax's request the drawing by the U.S. of naval forces to the Korean peninsula.
