MOSCOW. April 21 (Interfax-AVN) - There will be five items on the agenda of the Russian Defense Ministry's board meeting on Friday, among them progress of the final tests of the lead Admiral Gorshkov-class frigate, Defense Minister Gen. of the Army Sergei Shoigu said in his opening remarks at the meeting.
"Multirole frigates of this class armed with long-range precision-guided weapons should become main battleships of the Navy in the near future," Shoigu said.
"Their commissioning will ensure smooth renovation of surface naval forces and will increase their combat potential by 30%," the minister said.
