Russia has communications channels with U.S. to ensure flight safety in Syria - Russian General Staff

MOSCOW. April 26 (Interfax) - Russia and the United States have communications channels to prevent incidents in Syrian airspace, and Russia expects to settle differences with its American partners, Russian Armed Forces General Staff Main Operational Directorate chief Sergei Rudskoi said.

"We have direct line phones at the working level. This is done chiefly to ensure security of Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft operating in Syrian airspace and American aircraft. We hope to be able to settle differences and establish closer interaction in the future," Rudskoi said at a conference in Moscow on Wednesday.
