MOSCOW. April 26 (Interfax-AVN) - Strikes by the Russian Aerospace Forces have caused considerable damage to members of the ISIL and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist groups (both outlawed in Russia) since the start of their operation in Syria, Col. Gen. Sergei Rudskoi, chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff, said on Wednesday.
"All strikes have been carried out on targets verified from various sources. As a result, the main routes of supplying the militants with arms have been blocked," Rudskoi said at the Moscow Conference on International Security on Wednesday.
"Russian aircraft have carried out strikes on terrorist targets in Syria since September 30, 2015. As of that moment, the terrorists had controlled more than 70% of [Syrian] territory," Rudskoi said.
