MOSCOW. May 2 (Interfax) - The next round of the intra-Syrian talks in Geneva may be held in the second half of May, and prior to that UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura may visit Moscow, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov said.
When asked by Interfax whether a date for the next round of the intra-Syrian talks in Geneva has been set, Bogdanov said that "it has not been set so far, but the idea was that de Mistura would make a decision and would suggest dates for the new Geneva round after the fourth meeting in Astana."
"There were ideas that he would come to a number of countries, the capitals and would hold necessary contacts. I do not rule out that he will be willing to come to us. In any case, de Mistura has put forth suggestions as to what should be done after Astana, but prior to the start of Ramadan. It means that it is somewhere around the middle of May, the first several days after May 20, but it is a tentative date," he said.
De Mistura may visit Moscow "ahead of Geneva [round]," Bogdanov said.
