Russian military provides almost 5 tonnes of relief supplies to Syrian residents in past 24 hours

HMEIMIM. May 2 (Interfax) - The Russian center for reconciliation of the opposing sides in Syria has carried out six humanitarian missions in the country over the past 24 hours, including four missions in the Aleppo governorate, one in the Latakia governorate and one in the Al-Suwayda governorate.

"Residents received 800 hot meals, 100 food rations and bread in the city of Aleppo's districts of Kadi Askar, Benezid, Bustan Al-Qasr and Aziza. Another 800 food rations were handed over to residents in the populated localities of Jaaubet Burgal (Latakia governorate) and Taala (Al-Suwayda governorate)," the center said in a report.

As many as 1,492 residents have received humanitarian aid weighing in total 4.8 tonnes in the past 24 hours, the center said.

"Russian aircraft have delivered 21.5 tonnes of humanitarian aid (food supplies) provided to the Syrian authorities by the UN to the Deir ez-Zor city area using parachute platforms," it said.
