ASTANA. May 3 (Interfax) - The parties to the Astana meeting are discussing a document proposed by Russia on setting up four de-escalation zones in Syria.
"Yes, the document concerning these zones is being discussed," Director of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry's Asia and Africa Department Aidarbek Tumatov told Interfax on Wednesday.
Four or more such zones may be formed, he said.
"If the guarantor countries come to terms and sign the document, Damascus and the opposition will have to comply [with this document]," he said.
