SOCHI. May 3 (Interfax) - Creation of security zones in Syria should lead to enhancement of the ceasefire regime in the country but the fight against terrorist organizations will go on, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"Both of us [Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan] believe, and this is our common stance, that the creation of security zones [in Syria] should lead to further pacification and the ceasefire regime's consolidation," Putin told a press conference following the talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Putin went on to emphasize that "the absence of bloodshed is the most essential condition for a political dialogue to start between the conflicting parties. And ultimately, this political process should lead to a complete reinstatement of the country's territorial integrity and a unified leadership in the country".
Despite the establishing of the security zones, the fight against terrorism in Syria will go on, Putin said.
"Despite the creation of these zones, the antiterrorism struggle will go on against such organizations as ISIL, Jabhat al-Nusra [both outlawed in Russia] and alike, against everyone on the list of terrorist organizations approved by the United Nations. We will keep on fighting them," Putin said.
