MOSCOW. May 10 (Interfax) - No broad participation by foreign leaders in the celebrations devoted to the 72nd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War (the Soviet Union's war against Nazi Germany in 1941-1995) was envisaged this year, Russian presidential press officer Dmitry Peskov said.
"As this was not a jubilee, no broad international participation was envisaged," Peskov told reporters.
Speaking about Moldovan President Igor Dodon's participation in the May 9 celebrations in Moscow, Peskov said the Russian president had invited his Moldovan counterpart during a meeting with him and that was why he was in Moscow on May 9.
"No other international participation was envisaged," Peskov said.
