WASHINGTON. May 10 (Interfax) - Moscow and Washington are ready to cooperate on creation of de-escalation areas in Syria and some specific interaction mechanisms have been discussed at the talks in Washington, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"We are willing to cooperate on this and today we discussed specific ways, specific mechanisms that we can control together," Lavrov said following the talks.
"There is no doubt the political process is very, very important. We are convinced that one mustn't take a long pause and therefore, we welcome the decision of [U.N. Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Syria Staffan] de Mistura to resume the Geneva talks," Lavrov added.
