MOSCOW. May 12 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia recorded nine shooting incidents in three Syrian provinces over the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a bulletin on Friday.
"Most instances of random gunfire were observed in the areas held by fighters of the Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIL terrorist groups (banned in Russia)," the ministry said.
According to the bulletin, the ceasefire breaches occurred in the provinces of Damascus (5), Latakia (1) and Hama (3), the bulletin said.
"The situation in the de-escalation zones is stable," it said.
In turn, Turkey recorded four violations. "Two of them happened in the Daraa province, one in the Damascus province, and one in the Homs province," the Defense Ministry said.
Control groups are monitoring the ceasefire implementation consistent with the Memorandum on the Creation of De-Escalation Areas in the Syrian Arab Republic, which Russia, Turkey and Iran signed on May 4, 2017.
Meanwhile, Russia's center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria conducted seven humanitarian operations in the cities of Aleppo and Daraa during the day. Four tonnes of food were distributed amongst 1,249 Syrians.
In all, 1,200 humanitarian operations have been conducted by now.
"Negotiations on the cessation of hostilities continued with armed opposition groups in the provinces of Aleppo, Damascus, Hama, Homs and al-Quneitra. The number of armed units, which have joined the cessation of hostilities, is unchanged and stands at 218," the bulletin said.
