MOSCOW. May 12 (Interfax) - The Kremlin opted not to comment on U.S. President Donald Trump's tweet calling for making peace between Russia and Ukraine.
"I will leave that without a response," Russian presidential press officer Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Friday.
Donald Trump earlier posted photos of his meetings with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin on Twitter, calling on the countries to make peace.
"Yesterday, on the same day- I had meetings with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the FM of Ukraine, Pavlo Klimkin. #LetsMakePeace!" Trump said behind the two photos.
In one of the photos, Trump stands next to Lavrov, and in the other one, he sits at his desk in the Oval Office and Klimkin stands near him with his hands on the desk.
