BEIJING. May 15 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited the United States to resume the discussion of a cyber-security agreement.
"Back last year, we invited our U.S. partners to discuss cyber-security and even to enter into a relevant intergovernmental agreement. Regretfully, our offer was declined. Then the former administration said it was ready to reconsider our proposal but did not take any actions to that end," Putin said at a press conference on Monday at the end of his visit China.
"Genies let out of such bottles, especially those created by security services, may put their own authors and makers in the harm's way, so this issue should immediately be discussed at an appropriate political level, and a system of protection against such phenomena should be developed," he said.
