Donbas truce holds in general - conflicting sides

DONETSK/KYIV. June 1 (Interfax) - The truce declared in Donbas at midnight has been holding in general, except for a few incidents, the conflicting sides said.

"Two breaches have been observed since midnight. The truce holds for now," a spokesman for the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Defense Ministry told reporters on Thursday morning.

In turn, Kyiv said that the militia had breached the truce twice. The 112.ua website reported two attacks by the militia during the first night of the ceasefire, referencing a spokesman for army operation in eastern Ukraine Anton Mironovych.

As reported earlier, the conflicting sides agreed to cease fire at midnight on June 1.
