LUHANSK. June 6 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian army has launched eight attacks on the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) in the past 24 hours, the LPR militia said in a report on Tuesday.
"The Ukrainian army breached the truce eight times over the day, using 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers, infantry combat vehicles, and small arms," the report said.
Militia positions came under attack in the vicinity of Kalynove, Holubivske, Donetskyi, Lohvynove, Krasnyi Yar, Fruzne and Krasnyi Lyman, the LPR militia said. A house and a utility building sustained damage during the attack on Donetskyi.
"There were neither civilian nor military casualties," the militia said.
In turn, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) reported on Tuesday the injury of seven people as a result of Ukrainian army attacks.
"The Ukrainian army has breached the truce 71 times in the past 24 hours. In all, the army attacked 26 populated localities in the republic, using tanks, artillery, mortars, infantry combat vehicles, armored personnel carriers, grenade launchers, and small arms," a spokesman for the DPR Defense Ministry told the press.
"Five people were injured in Kruta Balka, which also reported damage done to power transmission lines. One person sustained a shrapnel wound in Staromykhailivka, and one man was wounded in the Petrovskyi district of Donetsk," he said.
In addition, a gas pipe was ruptured by shrapnel in the Petrovskyi district of Donetsk, the spokesman said.
The Ukrainian army operation staff said on Tuesday, for its part, that the militia had mounted 77 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas in the past 24 hours, and four Ukrainian servicemen had suffered injuries.
In the Mariupol sector, the militia fired rocket launchers near Bohdanivka, the staff said on Facebook. Ukrainian positions came under attack of 120mm mortars in the same area, as well as near Chermalyk and Krasnohorivka, the staff said.
In addition, the militia used 122mm tube artillery near Chermalyk. Attacks on Ukrainian army positions were seen near Vodyane, Shyrokyne, Pavlopil, Novotroitske, Hnutove, Talakivka and Mariinka, where the militia fired small arms, grenade launchers and 82mm mortars against strongholds, Kyiv said.
There were three militia attacks on residential areas in the Mariupol sector. Two mines detonated near homes in Krasnohorivka in the morning. Later in the day, a number of artillery shells fired by the militia fell in a Pavlopil residential area. The militia hit a street in Mariinka with a mounted anti-tank grenade launcher round at about 9 p.m. The attacks did not inflict civilian casualties, Kyiv said.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian army positions in the Donetsk sector came under 26 militia attacks. Tensions persisted in a suburb of Avdiivka, where the militia systematically fired 120mm and 82mm mortars, tank guns and infantry weapons on Ukrainian army positions, Kyiv said.
In the Luhansk sector, the militia mounted several attacks using 120mm mortars on Ukrainian defense lines near Krymske, Kryakivka and Novotoshkivske, Kyiv said.
