Ukraine's decision to codify its NATO ambitions is shortsighted, dangerous - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Karasin

MOSCOW. June 9 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian parliament's decision to codify Ukraine's ambition to become a NATO member of dangerous and shortsighted, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin told Interfax on Friday.

"This decision made by the Verkhovna Rada is lamentable. It only confirmed the dangerous geopolitical adventurism and the shortsightedness of politicians in Kyiv," Karasin said.

"Such measures should be a cause of concern not only for citizens of Ukraine, but also for responsible people in the European Union and the United States," Karasin said.
