MOSCOW. June 9 (Interfax-AVN) - The maps of de-escalation areas and security zones are ready, the approval process is nearly complete, Col. Gen. Sergei Rudskoi, chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff, said on Friday.
"In accordance with the Memorandum, a joint working group for de-escalation has been formed and is functioning actively. Three sessions have been held, during which maps reflecting the de-escalation areas and security zones were prepared, their approval process is finishing," Rudskoi said.
"The fifth international meeting on Syria in Astana is due to approve the main documents regulating the borders and monitoring of the ceasefire in the de-escalation areas," Rudskoi said.
"A regulating document regarding the joint working group has been drafted," the Russian general said.
