MOSCOW. June 14 (Interfax-AVN) - The situation in the de-escalation zones on the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic remains stable, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The situation in the de-escalation zones is assessed as stable. Within last 24 hours, the Russian part of the Russian-Turkish commission investigating ceasefire breaches has registered 4 cases of firing in the province of Damascus. The Turkish part of the commission has registered three cases of ceasefire violations, two in the province of Daraa and one in the province of Damascus," the Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.
"Most cases of random small arms fire have been registered in the areas controlled by militants of the ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra [banned in Russia] terrorist groups," the ministry said in the report.
Ceasefire observation is monitored under the memorandum on the creation of de-escalation zones in Syria signed by Russia, Turkey and Iran on May 4, 2017.
