Large-scale tactical drills of Azerbaijani army to involve 23,000 servicemen

BAKU. June 16 (Interfax-AVN) - The Azerbaijani army will hold large-scale tactical drills on June 19-24, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said in a report.

"Consistent with a plan, which has been approved by Azerbaijani President and Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, large-scale tactical drills will begin on June 19 to check combat preparedness of forces, control over troops and weapons, and interaction in a simulated combat environment," the report said.

About 23,000 servicemen and plenty of military hardware will be engaged in the exercises, the ministry said.
