MOSCOW. June 20 (Interfax) - Iran has shown its readiness to defend its borders and fight against terrorism and will continue to do it in the future, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei said.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps [IRGC] have shown in the past few days that they are very seriously committed to defending the borders of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the sovereignty of our country, and we are also fully determined to fight against terrorism" Sanaei said at a roundtable in Moscow.
"All the available capabilities and strength" should be used in the fight against terrorism, he said.
The IRGC announced last weekend that it had carried out a missile strike on terrorist positions in the east of Syria. The strikes targeted the positions of Islamic State terrorists in the Syrian governorate of Deir ez-Zor.
