MOSCOW. June 21 (Interfax) - The problem of flight safety in airspace over the Baltic Sea should be brought up at the next session of the NATO-Russia Council, NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller said.
"It's important that we continue to develop ways to avoid incidents and ensure that incidents don't again spiral into further crisis," Gottemoeller said via a video link from Brussels at a news briefing of the NATO Information Office in Moscow.
"That's one of the areas that we really will work on the NATO-Russia Council," she said.
There have been increasingly more air incidents over the Baltic Sea over the past several days, she said.
The alliance highly values the work on ensuring flight safety over the Baltic Sea that is being done under the Finnish president's guidance, Gottemoeller said.
