Putin lays wreath at tomb of Unknown Soldier

MOSCOW. June 22 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the ceremony of laying wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier outside Moscow's Kremlin Wall in the Alexander Garden on the Day of Remembrance and Mourning.

The ceremony was also attended by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Chairperson Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, as well as members of the government, parliamentarians and war veterans.

The Day of Remembrance and Mourning is marked on June 22. This is the official memorial date to commemorate the beginning of Russia's Great Patriotic War.
