Probability of ISIL leader's death close to 100% - MP Ozerov

MOSCOW. June 23 (Interfax) - The probability that ISIL (banned in Russia) leader Ibrahim Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been killed in Syria is very high, Federation Council Defense and Security Committee Chairman Viktor Ozerov said.

"If Russian Defense Minister [Sergei Shoigu] has reported the killing of the ISIL leader to President [Vladimir Putin], then the probably must be very high," Ozerov told Interfax on Friday.

"Russia would not want to find itself on the list of countries, which reported the killing yet al-Baghdadi turned out to be alive," he said.

"I think this information [about the killing of the ISIL leader] is close to 100%," Ozerov said.
