Syria experience being used to train Russian military commands - Shoigu

MOSCOW. June 30 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia has been using Syrian campaign experience to train its military commands and troops, Defense Minister Gen. of the Army Sergei Shoigu said in a teleconference on Friday.

"Syrian experience is being summarized and used for training military commands and troops. Extensive training was provided to Russian Armed Forces' commanders of the operative and strategic levels in February," Shoigu said.

Commanders of units and formations will be trained in July, he said.

"Principal approaches to training task forces, units and formations, including with the use of modern training methods and simulators, will be demonstrated at ranges during that event," the minister said.

There will also be a number of exercises to present various ways and methods of army operations, he said.
