Kremlin aide Surkov optimistic about prospects of relations between Moscow, Sukhum

SUKHUM. July 3 (Interfax) - Russia and Abkhazia have developed good interaction, Kremlin aide Vladislav Surkov said.

"We do not have that many problems, everything has become routine now, and we have normal interaction both in terms of economic cooperation and politically," Surkov said at a meeting with Abkhaz President Raul Khadjimba in Sukhum on Monday.

"Work is proceeding routinely on sectoral aspects related to the implementation of the treaty between Abkhazia and Russia, and therefore I believe we will have a positive conversation today. It seems to me everything is stable between us in each area. I look into the future quite optimistically," Surkov said.
