ASTANA. July 4 (Interfax) - Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Syria Staffan de Mistura is taking part in the fifth Astana round of the Syria settlement talks, an Interfax correspondent reported.
Head of the Syrian governmental delegation Bashar al-Jaafari has joined the meeting of the working group on Syria's de-escalation areas involving the guarantor countries.
Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov said earlier that de Mistura came to Astana for the next round of negotiations early in the morning.
