OSCE monitoring trip to Karabakh frontline passes without incident

BAKU. July 4 (Interfax) - Another OSCE monitoring trip to the contact line in the Karabakh conflict zone passed without incident on Tuesday, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry press service said.

"The monitoring [trip] took place near the village of Asagi Veyselli in the Fuzuli region, Azerbaijan," the defense ministry said.

Ghenadie Petrica and Simon Tiller, field assistants to the OSCE chairperson-in-office's personal representative, carried out the monitoring on the Azerbaijani side. Field assistants Mihail Olaru and Ognjen Jovic assessed the situation on the other side of the frontline.

A ceasefire between Armenia and the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) on the one part and Azerbaijan on the other part was declared in May 1994. The OSCE, assisted by the personal representative of the OSCE chairperson-in-office, arranges regular monitoring trips to the frontline to verify the conflicting sides' compliance with the truce.
