Crisis surrounding Qatar has no influence on Astana negotiations on Syria - Lavrentyev

ASTANA. July 4 (Interfax) - The existing tensions in relations between the Persian Gulf countries do not affect the negotiating process on Syria in Astana, Russian special presidential representative Alexander Lavrentyev said on Tuesday.

"[It has] absolutely no influence, because the Gulf countries are not represented in Astana and at other negotiating platforms," Lavrentyev told reporters in Astana, replying to a question on a possible influence of the crisis surrounding Qatar to the fifth round of the Astana negotiations.
