Russian delegation in Astana to meet with Syrian opposition reps, reflect their ideas in final documents - Lavrentyev

ASTANA. July 4 (Interfax) - The Russian delegation will hold talks with representatives of the armed Syrian opposition on Wednesday, and is ready to take their views into account when preparing the final documents, the Russian president's special representative for Syria, Alexander Lavrentyev, said.

"We intend to meet with them tomorrow, hear how they envision reaching future agreements with the central government and what ideas they have about reducing the confrontation. We will be taking this account in our work, including when preparing important documents for signature," Lavrentyev said at a briefing in Astana on Tuesday.

It was reported that nine Syrian armed opposition representatives had arrived for the fifth round of talks in Astana.
